Our History

Founded by Wayne Austin, H&G had a groundbreaking vision to provide a sleek, modern alternative to traditional metal fencing. Wayne’s innovation led to the creation of modular glass fencing systems, which quickly became globally renowned for their elegance and ease of installation.

In 2003, H&G achieved a major milestone by patenting the world’s first spigot system for glass fencing. This revolutionary design allowed for faster and more cost-effective frameless glass installations, setting a new industry standard. Our commitment to innovation was further demonstrated with the introduction of ‘friction fit’ technology and the use of 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel, renowned for its exceptional strength and corrosion resistance.

In 2008, our advancements were globally recognized when we received the Gold Medal for Building Invention of the Year in Geneva, making us the only Australian company to achieve this honor that year.

Our Manufacturing Process

As a global leader in glass hardware and innovation, H&G operates advanced manufacturing facilities in China and Vietnam. These facilities are integral to our production process, allowing us to produce high-quality stainless steel, aluminum and glass products while ensuring superior quality control.

Our manufacturing process utilizes precision investment casting for stainless steel components. Investment casting, also known as lost wax casting, is a technique that produces intricate and precise components with high accuracy. This method minimizes material waste and reduces the need for secondary machining, resulting in high-quality, near-net shape parts. With a monthly capacity of over 300 tonnes, we are well-equipped to handle large volumes while maintaining exceptional quality.

In addition to investment casting, our facilities are equipped with advanced CNC machines, anodizing and powder coating lines, and a dedicated quality control team. CNC machines offer precise and consistent part production while anodizing and powder coating provide durable and aesthetically pleasing finishes. This comprehensive approach supports our ‘one-stop shop’ model, enabling us to manage every aspect of production from design to final manufacturing.
