Tools and Materials Needed
- Measuring tape
- Drill
- Appropriate drill bits (to suit fixing size)
- Lag screws
- Rubber multi-grips
- Allen key
- Quick-Lock stand off pins (pins, locking bushes)
- String line
- Handrail and rubber
Installation Steps
Step 1: Mark and Pre-Drill Holes
- Mark out the holes accurately according to the provided CAD drawings.
- Pre-drill all marked hole locations to guide larger drill bits accurately.
Step 2: Drilling for Fixings
- Drill larger holes at pre-drilled points to accommodate your chosen fixing hardware.
Step 3: Installing Lag Screws
- Securely install lag screws into the timber treads, ensuring a tight and stable fit.
Step 4: Attaching Quick-Lock Pins
- Spin the Quick-Lock pins onto the installed lag screws by hand.
- Use rubber multi-grips to securely tighten the pins without damaging the surface.
Step 5: Locking Bush Installation
- Insert and install locking bushes into each pin.
- Rotate the pin onto the back thread and wind all the way in
Step 6: Alignment Check and Adjustment
- Use a string line to ensure pins are perfectly aligned.
- Rotate pins carefully until they just touch the string line, then lock them securely into position.
Step 7: Glass Panel Installation
- Carefully position and secure the glass panels onto the installed Quick-Lock pins.
- Adjust glass if needed through the hole in the glass that the pin sits on
- Raise glass heights if needed with plastic packers
Step 8: Handrail Installation
- Cut handrail to desired size
- Install correct rubber size to suit glass used for the specific project
- Install the handrail securely onto the top edge of the glass panels, ensuring a stable and professional finish.
