Installation Steps
Step 1: Measure and Mark
- Measure inward from the edge of the slab and mark the front position of the channel clearly using a chalk line.
- Ensure you allow a 10mm drainage gap.
Step 2: Channel Preparation
- Drill initial holes at each end of the channel sections and temporarily secure them to prevent movement.
- Use a hammer drill to mark all other hole positions clearly.
Step 3: Drilling and Cleaning
- Move the channel aside and drill holes to their full depth at each marked location.
- Thoroughly clean away all remaining concrete dust to ensure a secure fit.
Step 4: Levelling the Channel
- Using a laser level, confirm the channel is in a perfectly level position.
- Insert aluminium packers underneath the channel where necessary to achieve accurate levelling.
Step 5: Channel Installation
- Install stabilising washers into the channel.
- Securely fix the channel into position using provided fixings.
Step 6: Glass Preparation and Installation
- Flatten out the glass drips and position them evenly along the channel in preparation for glass panel placement.
- Attach the outside channel cover fitted with pre-glazed rubbers.
- Carefully install the glass panels into the channel, ensuring correct spacing between each panel.
- Adjust each panel’s alignment, using the TILT-LOCK spanner to wind nuts out or in, achieving perfect vertical alignment (allowing for 30mm of adjustment in each direction).
- Once aligned, tighten all nuts securely with the ratchet section of the TILT-LOCK spanner.
Step 7: Front Cover Installation
- Securely attach the front cover, ensuring pre-glazed rubbers fit snugly.
Step 8: Wall Mount and Handrail
- Mark and drill holes for wall mount brackets.
- Install handrail rubber onto the top edge of the glass panels.
- Join aluminium handrail sections together using a straight joiner.
- Lubricate both the handrail rubber and the underside of the aluminium handrail.
- Install the handrail securely, attach the top cover, and drill into the wall to finish the installation.
Final Check
Inspect the installation carefully, confirming all elements are level, secure, and correctly aligned. Your frameless glass fencing installation using the TILT-LOCK BR78 channel system is now complete.
